I like these. Do you turn the form then set up the off center? If so how are you attaching to the lathe? Thanks for posting.
Stuart, thanks for the question, a picture is worth a thousand word as they say, hope this link works... http://tidewaterturners.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Bottom_hollowing.pdf If using green wood, be sure to bag bottom plug removed in step 2. After hollowing, true up the plug hole to 90deg, I like yellow glue instead of CA to glue in the plug. Things evolve, and instead of using a spur drive in step 4 w/the point removed I just loosen the grip on the tenon and regrip it a little kittywampus. Light cuts etc…etc… On these turnings, the aria around the spout was blocked off and sandblasted to add a bit of texture. Fun to turn and a bit different, so if you would like a little more info please ask… cc
